I enjoy Paul Rudd tremendously
Posted in: Uncategorized
I’m watching Role Models while I blog. McLoving is dressed as Peter Criss, Stifler as Ace Frehley and the hilariously talented Paul Rudd is the Starchild himself.
This was one of my favorite movies from 2008. Easily top 5, now that I think about it. There wasn’t a lot to choose from if you’re into the stuff I’m into. You had Pineapple Express and Wall-E but not much past a few gems. Nothing really outstanding. I finally watched Milk and I won’t discuss that because it opens up all sorts of arguments and issues. I think that’s what they want so I choose to be a big ol’ rebel. I will watch and enjoy their film, but it will not inspire me to change my community if I can help it.
I basically don’t want people picketing outside my home. Enough strangers know where I live as it is. If they’re on the sidewalk with signs when I get home one day I’m pretty sure I would plow into them with the 2009 Ford Flex from D&D Ford.
Most importantly at the moment, it’s another baseball season and that means another April filled with me saying the Braves will win the world series. Good start so far. 5-1 start to the season after 3 in Philly and 3 at home Vs Washington. Still in Atlanta for the rest of this week. The Marlins are also 5-1 and they’re coming in with that murderer’s row of people no one ever heard of.
The 2009 season looks a little weird. The Royals look good. A lot of perennially bad teams look pretty decent and I couldn’t begin to pick a favorite for the world series.
One of the best parts of a new baseball season is the return of Manny Ramirez. Not only is he a hitting machine with Predator hair, he is now saying he’d like to leave Los Angeles in the future so he can go back to Cleveland, where he started. He is a senseless man. He is the only man alive who would sit under a palm tree in Los Angeles and wish he could be hanging out in Ohio. What’s not to love?
I’ve done a lot since I last blogged. I got to do something cool and different with my mother last week. I took her to see Old Crow Medicine Show. It’s a fun show with all manner of banjos and fiddles going on. The crowd was interesting and really diverse. I saw way more P1’s than I would expect at an old time string band sort of show. Mom enjoyed herself. She likes when we’re out somewhere and people come up to me talking about the show. Makes her feel proud. It embarrasses me when she is around.
I also got to see Cheech & Chong two weeks ago. They’re on tour all across North America and I totally lucked into the tickets. My buddy Rich was going to the show, but he wound up going to see Iron Maiden in Florida and that means his tickets fell right in my sizeable lap. It was an amazing experience. Another really diverse crowd. Again, a good many P1’s in attendance but it didn’t surprise me to see them there. No surprise at all on that one.
The show itself was solid and entertaining. Tommy Chong’s wife opens their shows and she is a funny lady. She’s also about the hottest older lady you will ever lay eyes on in your life and it’s all the better because she’s hilarious on stage pulling her weight with a couple of comedic legends. I’ll tell you this, if Cheech doesn’t regret all the time he spent doing Nash Bridges…Well, he should.
I’m going to be happy as long as neither of them dies before the new movie is done. They can die all they want before it comes out, as long as they wait till after filming. They should be so classy as Heath Ledger.
Lots of exciting things coming up soon. More baseball. Greenville Drive season is on now! And Test Fest is around the corner. Cool events for this year, at least from what I’m hearing. It’s gonna line right up around the time of the Greenville Crawfish Boil, too. We’ll get out and about and have good manly fun getting dirty all across the upstate doing various man things. There’s so much testosterone every year I have to start shaving my back by the third week.
