CHAPTER 1: MR. VERSATILITY
Posted in: Uncategorized
Now this may sound a little biased since I am a Clemson fan but all that aside, you have to give my boy Kyle Parker credit for what he is accomplishing on the baseball field. .287 batting average, with 10 homeruns and 47 RBI. He is a heavy hitter on his team but is also the possible starting QB for the football team this fall……or is he?
We all remember Chris Weinke, Florida State QB who was drafted out of high school by the Toronoto Blue Jays organization to play professional baseball. Obviously he returned to the college game and went on to the NFL for a stint, but that isn’t the point. What you ask yourself is, will the MLB get to Kyle Parker before he gives football a chance?
Can we blame him if he were to leave and take guaranteed money? Would we pass it up? I know I would go. Now granted I know it doesn’t work out in every situation, main example being roscoe crosby, but parker is putting up these numbers in college ball. Putting these numbers up in a conference that currently has five of its twelve members ranked in the top twenty five, Clemson included. Two of those teams, North Carolina, and Florida State ranked in the top 10.
I think it is a fair question, and the only thing we can do is see what happens. You guys want some reading material, follow the link. For all us Clemson fans, lets hope Kyle stays around to battle for a starting job on the gridiron.
