Technically, I guess you could say this is Chapter Two officially but nonetheless, blogging regularly feels pretty good. It gives me a chance to clear my mind when something comes up I want to talk about, sports related of course, like the hiring of Isiah Thomas by Florida International University, to coach their men’s basketball team.
First of all, we have to seperate the hall of fame player, from the lame duck coach. Saying that, pretty much does it. Isiah proved he could not coach on the professional level without having to recruit, what makes you think that he can coach on the college level with having to recruit? He ran one of the most notorious sports franchises in the world, into the laughing stock of the league it once carried,by misappropriating gross amounts of money on mediocre talent. Not to mention the sexual harassment issues that went on with the Knicks.
Maybe hewill do good on the college level now. It isn’t like Florida International is a premiere program in a premiere conference so he could actually get by with being mediocre and keeping a nice job in a nice place for the forseeable future. I personally don’t see how he can recruit talent or get anyone excited about his program being as stoic as he is in this interview I am watching. I mean he basically told Andy Katz that he could coach better than he is about to try to.
Oh well, good luck to you Isiah. Hopefully you will win a lot of games and make it into the play in game of the NCAA Tournament to get destroyed by the overall number one seed. Again, we will see what happens. That’s all for now, hard to blog and talk to four different people at once, so we will wait and see what the next few days brings us as Chapter 2 will be here before you know it.
