The Madden Curse states that whoever ends up on the cover of the Madden video game will get injured during the year. It has held up year after year for a long time.  Green Bay fans believe it too!!!  Right now Madden 2012 has come down to Hillis vs quarterback Michael Vick for the cover and Green Bay fans are getting together to vote for Michael Vick so the curse won’t run its course on Hillis! haha We’ll see if 2012 turns out to be a bad year for Green Bay!

Yeah so this weekend our webmistress Tracy had a house warming party at her new house which I helped her move into a couple of months ago.  Her son Alex made some awesome barbecue, burger sliders, baked beans and more not to mention all the killer desserts brought in by other guests.  Oh, and let’s not forget the ALCOHOL!  Although I’m not a big drinker, I decided to have a few and was a wee bit tipsy after a few hours when we left.  I would have done a considerable amount of more damage had I stayed longer but poor Tessa was exhausted after having worked 12 hours the night before, slept about a total of two hours and had just got back from her grandfather’s birthday party up in Spindale, NC.  Luckily for her, I did all the driving – up to THAT point that is!

10.) “Your Highness”, $3.9 million. Up to $16 million in its 2nd week at the box office.

I am truly surprised that this movie made it to the tenth spot. I am a huge fan of Stoner Movie Genre. I was excited to see the lasted Danny MacBride movie, East Bound and Down is a great show. After seeing this movie, I have come to the conclusion that I am done with Renaissance Age, at least movies set during that time Red Ridding Hood was set during this time and it was not very good. The movie was like twilight meets the Renaissance Fair. I went to see Your Highness yesterday with my husband and me niece. However, I was sadly disappointed with this film. I was hoping that this film would be as historical witty like a Mel Brooks Comedy. Back to the days of King Arthur, tales of chivalry have burnished the legends of brave, handsome knights who rescue fair damsels, slay dragons and conquer evil. But behind many a hero is a good-for-nothing younger brother trying just to stay out of the way of those dragons, evil and trouble in general. Danny McBride and James Franco team up for an epic comedy adventure set in a fantastical world–Your Highness. As two princes on a daring mission to save their land, they must rescue the heir apparent fiancée before their kingdom is destroyed. The concept of the plot seems like it might work. However, the comedy aspect was not there. It seemed a little corny.

It usually doesn’t work out too well in movies when they do this. For instance, they cast the handsome Dennis Quaid to play the very ugly Jerry Lee Lewis in Great Balls of Fire. They cast Joaquin Phoenix, who is ugly, to play Johnny Cash, who is a different type of ugly. Same for Gary Busey and Buddy Holly. Different types of ugly.
Now comes John Gotti’s turn to be done and they cast John Travolta. They didn’t go with a guy who is especially good at anything or a guy who looks like the actual guy. They just went with John Travolta because he was there.
Of all the guys in all the mob movies, there are at least 400 capable actors who look like John Gotti, who seems way more like a hardnosed badass than John Travolta could ever pull off.
I don’t think you can do Grease and then do Gotti. The Teflon Don is rolling in his grave. On the bright side, if the movie sucks we may never see John Travolta again.

When I got off work Friday night, Tessa and I went to Walmart to pick up some groceries and miscellaneous items we needed.  As we were wrapping up our little shopping expedition, Tessa went to grab some shampoo while I stayed across the aisles in the toy department.  While she was finding her brand of shampoo, I felt the urge to pass gas, break wind, cut the cheese – you get the idea!  So I found an incospicuous place to discretely release my excess baggage and, in the process, Tessa was coming back with her spoils and made eye contact with me.  The look on my face gave me away and she gave me the “Seriously?!” look which, in turn, caused me to explode with a little more than just laughter!  To make matters worse, she felt it necessary to audibly call me out on my little slip adding insult to injury since the people around us obviously heard me to begin with!  Needless to say, I moved on to another part of the store as quickly as I could!

The next day we went down to Easley to show our support for our receptionist, Katie Pack who was competing in the 2011 Miss Greenville Pageant.  It was very stuffy in the church where it was held and we sat behind the soundguy who obviously didn’t have a clue as to what he was doing because the sound was bloody awful and we could hear the girl who was emceeing the event while she was backstage because the genius didn’t think to turn her mic off while she wasn’t on stage.

Katie ended up winning People’s Choice in the pageant but ended up 3rd runner-up which I thought was boo-crap because she was way hotter than some of the other girls and should have at least been awarded Miss Upstate or even Miss Clemson since those were two other titles they were awarding in addition to Miss Greenville.  Oh well, she did fantastic considering it was her very first pageant!

When we left the pageant, we stopped and ate at Don Pablo’s so I could get some of their delicious cornmeal spoon bread which I haven’t had in YEARS!  We then did a little shopping at Old Navy and Shoe Carnival next to Regal Hollywood 20 since we were waiting on their 7:10 showing of Insidious.

Insidious was WELL worth the trip to the movies and scared the pee outta both me and Tessa!  Not surprising considering it’s the collaboration of the creators of the Saw and Paranormal Activity films (keep your eyes open for the “Jigsaw” drawing on Patrick Wilson’s chalkboard in his classroom in the film)!  Easily the best horror movie so far this year – not that there’s been many since it’s only April!

Since I’m reviewing movies in this blog, I wanna add one I neglected a few weeks ago due to my memoriam for Jamie Browder (didn’t seem appropriate to tack on a movie review).  The film in question is the new movie starring the ever-so-lovely Aussie actress Emily Browning, Sucker Punch.

I have to say that I was a bit disappointed with the film.  I guess I expected more and was hoping for a happier ending (not to give anything away).  However, it was an entertaining film with lots of eye candy!  Definitely a redeeming value!

Wow, NBA Playoffs are almost here, I’m excited about it. I’m a Lakers fan and the West is allways good, but the East this year may be the top of it all. Looks like as of now we got a couple things confirmed. Knicks Vs Celtics in the First Round, and the Heat have locked up the #2 seed. I do still think the Lakers will take it though they have had their struggles this year. Looks like Kemba Walker is going pro, great move, definite first rounder for sure. I do think he will go the way of Rip Hamilton as one of the greatest UCONN Huskies no one talks about. I met a great Huskie once when I was in Hartford, Geno Auriemma, I’ll see if I can find the photo, til then, PEACE.

I’m no fan of the Kardashian reality show.  I am a fan of Kim’s caboose.  And even though Big Booty Judy has had more work than B*th Br*dley, I think she’s pretty hot.  There’s something about her I don’t like.  Maybe the annoying voice, get back to you on that.  Kourtney is probably the most normal ‘Dashian yet seems to lack in the personality department.  Then we have “The One Woman Gang” Khloe.

She’s married to NBA player Lamar Odom and I’m pretty sure she could kick his ass just like he could kick mine for this blog about his unfortunate looking “wife.”  And I say “wife” because as a black NBA player he could get way, way, way, hotter.  Detlef Shremp’s wife is hotter.

Ok maybe not.  But in a time when people are begging for Obama’s birth certificate I too join the fight for the truth!  But not Obama, Khloe!  And in my best fake Glenn Beck I say this, God doesn’t do things like this.  He doesn’t do that to moms and dads.  Imagine hearing you get to go on a blind date with Kim Kardashian’s sister and the Armenian female version of Brad Garrett pops into the backseat.  I’m starting to think the late great Robert Kardashian ran around on Mother Kardash and had a romp in the melon patch of Bea Arthur.  I feel bad for The Big Khlo.  But I feel worse for Lamar Odom’s back, lap, gag reflex, and legs.
