Man, I cannot wait for Halloween this weekend!  The weekend is still up in the air because, as of now, the only plans I have are to join some friends Friday night and hit up some haunted houses!

Tessa and I hit up Wompus Woods at about 1 am Friday night/Saturday morning after leaving my remote at Legal Grounds up in Rutherfordton, NC (her neck of the woods since she lives down the road in Spindale).  The trail was fun but the real treat was being behind two young blonde girls who were screaming like….uh, well GIRLS the whole time!

After sleeping in ’til like noon, we got up and headed to Shelby, NC with her mom to grab some lunch, hit the mall and go see Paranormal Activity 2.  Personally, I didn’t find the prequel/sequel to be nearly as scary as the first film but it did give some intriguing background to the story.  Definitely a must-see for fans of the original!

Sunday was hockey day as we hit up the Bi-Lo Center to catch the Greenville Road Warriors take on the South Carolina Stingrays for Tessa to experience her first hockey game.  The game started well with the Road Warriors scoring two goals in the first period however the Stingrays scored two goals during the second and two more during the third to take the game 4 – 2.

After the game, we went pumpkin shopping and picked up three killer pumpkins one of which Tessa carved while I made dinner.  We’re gonna save the other two for this weekend!  I’m ready for Halloween dammit!!!!

A hair salon in Australia has opened and how have the set themselves apart from the rest?  They have topless hairdressers.  The shop’s owner says the idea for Hotcuts “went off like 18 atomic bombs in its home of Sydney.” He can barely keep up with the appointments and has had to hire more hot women since the shop opened this month.  There’s always gonna be haters though!  The other hair salons are freaking out and trying to shut the business down. They claim chemicals and scissors might cause damage to the nude girls.

Matt Gone has been crazy about tattoos for 20 years now and has 98% of his body covered in them!  He started getting ink to hide birth defects but now the only things that he doesn’t have tatted up are his palms, bottom of his feet and his eyeballs!  The dude even has a tongue tottooed!  What’s next for matt?  He’s taking it to the next level!!  He’s getting an Eyeball tattoo! Doctors have warned him that his eye tattoos could lead to blindness and the loss of his eyes due to infection!!  WOW!

Man, I’m a huge Clemson fan and who would have thought we would be sitting at 3-3 now? I’m sure you Gamecock fans will say that you knew that but you guys allways no best right? (sarcasm) . Clemson has to fix that and they will run the table I’m confident. Also, the Yankees being horrible in the playoffs is great for me as well as I am a huge Red Sox fan and if we can’t go, neither can they, lol. I’m excited about Halloween and taking the kids and grandkids out trick or treating. Yeah grandkids, I think I have reached a point in my life where I want to calm down for a bit, no alcohol, no drugs, and no bs, lol. I’ll work on it and let you know what happens.

This weekend was a great chance for me and Tessa to spend some time together as well as with some of our friends and family.  Friday night we went out to Gottrocks to catch SIX AND TWENTY, GHOST IN THE MACHINE and RED X.

When the show was over, we wound down by watching Trick R Treat since I had finally bought it again on Blu-ray since it was stolen when my apartment was broken into last December.

Saturday we went to Hollywood 20 to catch the new Jackass movie in 3D!  The film was hilarious but still didn’t top the second installment in the Jackass film series which is still my favorite.  However, the 3D spin is killer!

After the movie, we went up to Spartanburg to join the rest of the boys in DETHRO TULL and their families at Fuddruckers.  We were all treated to the meal by the father of our youngest member Jesse Tesh (aptly nicknamed “The Kid”).

Afterwards, Tessa and I followed Blake (aka “Bogie”) and his wife and daughter to Halloween Express to look around and give Burket (aka “Captain Toenail McGutty Cutty”) and his wife Jackie time to go home and prepare for a little board game action as we played their copy of the Alice in Wonderland board game based on the Tim Burton film and had some tasty beverages both adult and virgin.  It was a good time and a great bonding experience for all of us especially Tessa who is fairly new to the circle.

When we got home, we watched Dreamworks’ How to Train Your Dragon which I bought on Blu-ray for Tessa who had really been wanting to see it.  I fell asleep during the film which was a change since Tessa is usually the one falling asleep during movies.  What I saw of the movie was really good, but I don’t feel qualified to rate it since I slept during a good portion of the film.

The next morning we got up and met up with my mom, brother and Aunt Pat and drove into NC to meet up with Tessa’s mom and then went to Chimney Rock.  We stopped in Lake Lure to have a nice little picnic lunch and then we drove into Chimney Rock and split up so Aunt Pat, my mom and Tessa’s mom could go shopping while Anthony, Tessa and I went into Chimney Rock State Park and took the elevator up to the top of the mountain for some sightseeing.

After we left the mountains (or foothills, rather) behind, Tessa and I did some much needed grocery shopping and took it easy the rest of the evening and just enjoyed each other’s company before we had to go our separate ways for the work week.

This years theme at the Wild Wing-Hallowing Party will be vampires. It will be a “True Blood” theme with lots of blood and gore. I don’t have my custome yet. Any suggestions? I don’t want to have anything to do with weddings or brides. My wedding was enough. Those dresses are not made for comfort. I went to look for costumes last night and I didn’t find anything for myself. However, I found a few costumes for my dogs. I was tempted to buy the turtle costume or the weiner dog outfit. I particularly like the ridding princess costume. I then realized that my dog would not do the walk of shame out in public wearing such a thing. He would tear it to pieces as soon as it was taken off of him. The same goes for adults and children. If your costume sucks does that ruin your Halloween? Matt and Nine do not have their costumes either. Many of the suggestions for the guys were couple outfits: The Family guy costumes- Chris and Peter Griffin. Buck Owens and Roy Clark is my favorite suggestion for the Matt and Nine. I might be a vampire.

This weekend Paige finally got married and the University of South Carolina Gamecocks beat the number one college team in the country, the University of Alabama Crimson Tide!

When the game started I was in Mauldin emceeing the Ron Hickman benefit show with CRIMSON PROMISE (featuring Lonzo from WORD) and 3 NAILZ which ended up raising $1500!

When the show was over, Tessa and I made our way into the cluster fornication that was downtown Greenville as Fall For Greenville was in full swing!  However, we were not there for FFG but to join the rest of the Planet staff at Paige’s reception since we had to miss the wedding – but for a good cause!

Sunday was my mom’s 55th birthday so we all went out to dinner at Golden Corral then had cake and ice cream in honor of the Mother of Twisted!

Now it’s back to work as I am looking forward to this weekend when Tessa, the fam and I will all head to Chimney Rock where the weather is forecasted to be sunny with a high of 69!  Woohoo!

I was blown away with the performance that Skillet put on at the Birthday Bash!  Just a solid show all around.  Had a chance to sit down and talk with the band and learned some pretty cool stuff.  Korey Cooper, she’s the girl with the black and blue hair, has the hardest job on the tour as she’s plays Wife to John the lead singer and mother/teacher to their two children; Alexandria and Xavier.  The two kids travel with the band and attend an online school, has to be a wild experience living on the road.  On top of all of that and working with the band on new music, Korey has started a book club.. “I know I”m a nerd” she says.  You can find more details about that at the skillet web site.  www.skillet.com

The two singles on the tour are Ben, lead guitar, and Jen Ledger, drummer.  Ben told us he just got a new pillow topper for the bed and if you’ve never tried one its a very safe invest me!  ”The girls love it”  Jen Ledger– well all I can say is a call dibs!  She’s a pretty quite girl till you see her play the drums!  I’m working on getting the band to stop by again sometime soon so I can get a date with the girl.. I’ll keep you updated!

WOW! I gotta say, I had the greatest time at Birthday Bash 14 this past weekend. Ranks up there as one of my favorites. The secret for me is, I don’t really care what bands are there. I want people to enjoy the lineup, but it’s all ambiance for me. I enjoy the most, meeting people that listen to us everyday and making new friends, outside of facebook, lol. The venue was perfect and the night was as well. Thanks to all the new friends I made and keep on listening, because next year is always bigger and better.

Birthday Bash XIV kicked TOTAL ASS!!!  I got to meet a lot of great Planet listeners as well as killer musicians!  Right as I arrived, we did a meet and greet with one of my personal favorite bands, SKILLET!

About an hour later we also got to do an meet and greet with the mighty FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH!

Shortly thereafter it was time to get the show started as Paige and I took to the stage to introduce ROYAL BLISS whose bassist turns out to be good friends with my best friend Kenny who now lives in ATL!

Once ROYAL BLISS started, I made my way back to the Planet tent to meet some P1s as they were making their way into the show.

Not long after I had to go meet Tessa at my Aunt Pat’s house to get her to the show being I had her ticket and she is from out of town.  We went back to the Planet tent for a bit while FUEL played then made our way back to the VIP tent and met up with some of our mutual friends.

From that point on, it was a constant back and forth from going backstage to announce DROWNING POOL with Dex to the Planet tent and back to the VIP tent and then again backstage to announce SKILLET with The Rise Guys!

Once SKILLET took the stage, I made sure Tessa and I went out into the crowd to watch SKILLET kill it as they always do!  I know for a fact that many P1s became diehard Panheads that night!

After SKILLET’s set was over, it was time to hit the stage one last time with the rest of the crew to make the final announcements for the night and introduce FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH!!!

Needless to say, sleep was not easy to come by that night and my voice was a bit rough on air yesterday!
