This weekend I somehow managed to make it out to two different collaborative birthday parties – and when I say collaborative, I mean more than one person celebrating a birthday at each party!  Friday night I went out to my friends Phillip and Erin’s house as both of them were celebrating birthdays and decided to collaborate (see, there’s that word) and put on a huge party with drinks, food and drinks!  Too bad I didn’t know before showing up that they have a pool because I totally would have gone swimming!

The next day I got to fulfill my desire to hit the pool as I raided Matt and Nine’s remote at Huntington Down Apartments since I live right next door!

After chillin’ in the pool most of the day, our drummer Leman reminded me of Trevor from BLVD Music’s birthday party in collaboration (again!) with John of THE COLD ROSES as they were also both celebrating birthdays!  So I again went out and ate and drank and socialized as 4 out of 5 DETHRO TULL members all managed to be at the same place at the same time without being at band practice!  Good times!  Now prepare for the 4th!

Like a said on the show it doesn’t matter that the chicks are hot or not.. Its still against the law and jacks the kid up.. I just can’t believe the teacher hook up with the 17 year olds… What.. your ass couldn’t wait 1 year… Here are a couple of the picks:

This weekend I went out and took in some local shows to show my support of the scene which is trying to bud once again and to spread the gospel of DETHRO TULL!  Friday night I went to the Electric City of Anderson to a place called Bull Feathers (formerly known as Charlie T’s) and caught CADILLAC HIGH and the return of UNDONE.  Both bands put on great performances and I got to clown around with some folks before, during and after the show….I believe there were blackmail pics taken….like THIS one!

The next night I went out to Gottrock’s to see Tyler’s band SIX AND TWENTY play with the mighty WHISKY MOUNTAIN MACHINE!  As always both bands played extremely well and I got to mingle with a lot of folks I know from other bands.  At the end of the night, Tyler spoke of getting a show together in Greenville in the next couple of months or so….more to come!

Saturday was a huuuuuuuuge day for 2/5 of TRG! Maffew and I got to go up to Asheville for a little lunch date with the legendary Dale Murphy. And it was good. So very, very good.
Dale was a complete gentleman and a gracious and patient man even though he was sweating in the sun and facing a good many rabid fans who seemed to struggle to treat him like a real person.
I do hope that makes sense. When I say they struggled to treat Murph like a real person, I mean they treat him as such a legend that they basically act like they’ve just met Batman or Donald Duck. At an event like that, Dale Murphy may as well be a robot. Makes me feel bad for him, and makes me want to avoid being a 2-time NL MVP and a 7-time All-Star. Somehow I don’t think I have too much to worry about with either of those.

Maffew and I got to go to Anderson on Friday night! Our first trip to the Electric City in a few months, and our first trip to an Anderson-area bar in a couple of years. Of course the P1’s came out in huuuuuge numbers and showed us a real good time. Hopefully we showed them a real good time, too. And we’ll be mack at TJ Whispers thsi Friday night from 10-midnight once again! Please do join us.

Before going on the air Friday, I hit Hollywood 20 to catch the remake of the 80’s TV show The A-Team starring Liam Neeson and Bradley Cooper.  I had been looking forward to the film for some time now but I was worried because I had not heard much hype over the movie in the weeks prior to opening.  However, I had nothing to fear for the film was a really fun thrill ride!  Not a GREAT film by any means but a very enjoyably movie!  Definitely go check it out!

I then ran by Target and picked me up a couple of T-shirts: one a retro Star Wars tee and the other a comic book-styled Ghostbusters tee.  Yeah I’m a dork!

After getting off of work that night I ran out to Ground Zero to see MAY LAY (the band playing our first show with my band DETHRO TULL in August) play.  A DARKER SHADE OF SCARLET played first and put on a great set despite not having their bass player.  EASTERN SKIES and THE SPEAK OF played next with the latter of the two giving their final performance.  MAY LAY was next and put on a high energy set so DETHRO TULL is gonna have to bring our ‘A’ game in order to keep up!  Unfortunately I didn’t get to stay to see FROM TOMORROW because they always bring it live!

Saturday night, my friend Whitney and I went out to the Corner Pocket in downtown Greenville to see THE LIONZ OF ZION and NOTHING SAINT play.  The P1 Lauren was out there so we sat with her as THE L.O.Z. played and the smoking hot girls came crawling in the joint!  Holy crap!  I was hardly able to pay attention to the guys for checkin’ out the gals!

I had to leave halfway through NOTHING SAINT’s set but both bands completely rocked the Pocket!

Sunday was downtime for the Twisted as I am back in full swing today and ready to jam with my boys in the TULL tonight!

Or do you want to see a different view on what is happening in the world today!?!  Over the weekend I finally watched the doc.. Zeitgeist.  It had some wild views on a lot of things that are going on.. Now if you’re religious it will probably offend you at the beginning but it really is some interesting stuff.  It talks about who really runs the government and why we do not have clean running cars and that terrorists were made up to keep the country in fear..  As wild as those statements might be when you hear the evidence that that the movie presents it will make you think.

As for me I was impressed with seeing many of that problems that I learned about in college were in the movie and are ten times worse today.  You see how the banking industry is set to fail and the pain that banks like the world bank causes in other countries.  Check it out and report back to me.. This morning I got up and did my normal routine of hitting the gym and then coming home and hitting the shower.  However, my shower was quite inadequate as the water pressure SUCKED!  It felt more like a Catholic baptismal sprinkle than a flippin’ shower!  Needless to say, I went by the apartment office and let them know so hopefully it will be resolved soon – preferably before tomorrow morning!

That’s all I got!  Just needed something to bitch – I mean BLOG about!

I was in the “snackateria” this morning and chatting with our Web Mistress, Tracy West.  I noticed that I inserted the Lean Pocket at the wrong end, not where the instructions indicated. It tasted the same. Does it matter what end you put in the cardboard? “This side up” on microwave popcorn.  I have popped it the other way many times and it always taste the same.  Do you leave your pillow tags on, because it says do not remove under penalty of law?  Are you the person who dials 9 or # before you hang up?  Who really does that?  I always just hang up.    Pooper scoop!  Don’t run or dive by the pool.  I have been unkind and I didn’t rewind.  People now leave finger prints on DVDs.  I hate getting a dirty DVD!  Mind the Gap!  Keep your arms in until the ride comes to a complete stop!  Drive single in the carpool lane. Talk on the phone while driving.  How many people drink with while wearing their ankle bracelet?  Ok, Lindsey Lohan may have not have been the best example.  My point is that there are too many rules.  Everything is so complicated.  Sometimes you just have to rebel and not read the directions!    Who is perfect?
