Chia Obama
Posted in: Uncategorized
I think I have seen it all. There is now an Obama Chia Pet. Matt made a comment about this very topic earlier this week. We did a news story on Obama Chicken Fingers being sold on the menu at a restaurant in Germany. Matt said that Obama would be making a ton of profit off of his Presidency. I said, I thought that President Obama doesn’t have the time to worry about how he is being marketed. Can you imagine the money he can make on the home shopping network.
Where will it end.??

Def Leppard, Poison, and Cheap Trick are getting ready to start touring in June. They will be at the VWA Aug. 8th in Charlotte. Already, there are rumours of Joe Elliot and Brett Micheals are butting heads. Joe Elliot says he was misquoted in the press. He implied that Poison is a “fluff” band. He said, that Poison was a band that was more about image then substance. Well to make a long story short, they “Kissed and Made Up.” Neither one of them are them are that deep. Maybe Joe should get his own VH1 show. They both are typical 80’s bands. They both use the same rock/ballard approach to music. This reminds me of a situation I got involved in in High School. Two guys were fighting at a party over calling each other pansies. The night ended in the emergency room with one broken nose. I drove the idot to the hospital.

Friday Night Thoughts
Posted in: Uncategorized
Hey guys, what’s going on? Sorry it’s been awhile but I haven’t really been thinking about what to say, too much has been going on. Not meaning that as I’m ignoring my blogging duties, but in a way to where this kind of fell to the back burner, so to speak, and I haven’t thought to update it. So, since it’s been a while, I’m gonna try and make this one a decent size blog.
First thing on my mind is the economy. People are really losing their jobs and it sucks really bad. Our state is one of the highest unemployment rates in the country, and it doesn’t really hit home until it happens to you, or someone you know. Moike for example, Nine’s roommate. He just got laid off from his second job and he only has the one part time job now and he will have a rough time making ends meet. Hopefully he will find something because he has a certain set of skills.
Moike is a welder, not everybody can do that right? So you would think that with those skills, someone will hire him. Then when you think about it, there are a ton of moike’s out there who can weld, so I guess the field is pretty big. Obviously, I didn’t live through the depression of the late twenties and thirties, but I imagine that our time now is reflecting some of what that generation of people went through.
At least now there are more resources and funding available for people who lost their jobs, to get back on their feet. Other than that, its pretty equal then and now in a primal, trying to exist, and feed your family type of way. I won’t go too long into this but hopefully Moike finds a job soon, and we all support our new President and his stimulus package because it will turn things around soon. Remember, we will have an outrageous debt no matter who the President is so to make money, you have to spend money.
On the brightside, the weekend is looking up. Parmalee will be playing at The Handlebar Saturday night and I will be in attendance. Hope to see you guys out there so you all can meet the great legend that is one Andy White, or as we like to say, Blandy White.

A bird crapped on my head
Posted in: Uncategorized
Seriously. It took 24 years and 3 months for it to happen, but it finally did. I was on my way out to get in the sweet 2009 Mustang GT I am driving courtesy of D&D Ford when I felt something hit me. Amazingly, it went behind my glasses and only a fraction of an inch from being in my left eye. IN MY EYE! A couple of seconds later, before I went back into the house, I scratched my head and realized there was more in my hair.
I have nothing else to say about that. Everyone’s gonna get dumped on by a bird at some point. A dude my size, probably more often than most people. All you can do is laugh, or get really mad and make it seem worse than it is. Unless it’s that weird purple bird crap. If that ever happens, I’ll flip out for sure.
Here’s something weird about the life I lead. I live downtown in an old house that was smartly divided up into 3 apartments. I’ve been watching a lady walk around my neighborhood for probably the last year or so. On Monday, there was snow on the ground and she had no work so she heard the show for the very first time and somehow (I should ask, I guess) she figured out who I was and started emailing me. So now I can hang out on my porch and talk to her every time she passes by in 15-second mini-conversations. I like when my life is like a sitcom. A good one. Not like any of the ones on network TV right now.
I’ve been in a great mood for two solid days now. It’s unusual. The product of my new bed. At least I’m attributing it to that. When you get some memory foam and good stuff going on, you can’t help waking up in a good mood unless you’re just not a nice person. It feels like I sleep on a cloud now.
I’m only slightly creeped out by having the same bed as both Skip and Maffew. Skip’s bedroom is identical to mine. Matt has the same style as well, but he went with the higher foot and the leather on the headboard while I am more fond of an understated look. Basically all of us having the same bed just means we don’t like sleigh beds because you can either have the bed we all got or you can buy a sleigh beds. If you have a sleigh bed, I suggest you start a bonfire immediately.
Easily 5 or 6 people have asked me today where I think Terrell Owens will play football next. I don’t know. Pick a team and say it’s my guess. Just don’t say Oakland for fun and attribute it to me because I’d never make that joke. Here’s hoping he winds up on another NFC East team, though. Maybe the Redskins. They’ll do anything. I’m just not sure they could afford him even if they wanted him.
